WHY should you want to come to come to Dartmouth to play bridge?? Great question! DARTMOUTH IS BEAUTIFUL... at the heart of the center of this city is the beautiful Sullivan's Pond, neighboured by Lake Banook and the world famous Shubie Canal. Not to mention the Salt Marsh Trail and Lawrencetown Beach gracing the outskirts of Halifax's sister city. These are just a few highlights...
Shirley Cameron is a bridge player who LOVES Dartmouth. She says - "I started working in Dartmouth in 1979, moved here to live in 1984. We have sports facilities, beautiful outdoor spaces, beaches, trails, great shopping, and all the essentials." She adds... "Downtown Dartmouth made the Globe and Mail's IT List, as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Canada, in June 2023. They called it the Brooklyn of Halifax! Come and enjoy!"
How about 'getting to the Bridge Connection on Baker Dr?'
- Once off of the MacKay bridge in Dartmouth, follow the Circumferential Highway (111) til you reach exit 8. Turn right onto the ramp, then left from the ramp to access Baker Dr. You'll see Sobeys, and you can turn into this parking lot, or one of the next couple, and the Bridge Connection is upstairs in Millstone Square - 3 entrances, 3 elevators, or stairs if you prefer.
- If you have taken the MacDonald Bridge, Burnside (from Magazine Hill), or elsewhere, head for the Circ Highway, and repeat the above steps. Once you reach the Circ Highway, it's all smooth sailing.
